I just bought a 1988 XJ with an AX5 that will not go into 5th gear. After 171,000 miles, I've heard from most that a rebuilt tranny is the way to go. Can anyone recommend a source for detailed information on how to replace the clutch and tranny. I want to know what I'm in for before I start a project that might be beyond my ability. Thanks in advance for any input and I would be happy to photograph and post a tech piece for anyone's future reference.
