I have removed my old faulty and failed Bosch in-tank fuel pump on my 1996 XJ
and was wondering if this new smaller size in-tank fuel pump
would work-It seems like the bracketry on the old Bosch float gauge will not be correct for the new pump-Any advice or "work-around" suggestions/comments-Does anyone know if this Bosch was an OEM stock item or some aftermarket added optiion ?TIA

the smaller style will work fine. I bought a holly performance pump for a mustang to put im my stroker. Supports 350hp and cost less than the stock pump would have. Seat the smaller pump against the bottom of the bracket. I have not noticed any problems with the tank reading incorrectly, but I usually fill up around 1/4 anyway.

is there a way to get a new fuel pump assembly (module) for '96s? the end the fuel line goes to has rusted off to no more than a tiny nub, so I won't be running it that way.
