You have just been proven wrong:

Google: Ronn Motor Comany Scorpion HX

It's a 600 hp twin turbo V-6, with they're "H2GO Hydrogen On-Demand system that actually produces hydrogen through electrolysis of water as it roles down the road" Taken from the November issue of duPont Registry, and also premered at the 2008 SEMA show.

pretty badass, but how is it on the trail?

While coaxing 600 hp out of twin-turbo'd 3.5-liter V6 isn't a huge feat, the H2GO Hydrogen On-Demand system is the Scorpion's showpiece. The system produces hydrogen through the electrolysis of water while the vehicle is in motion, creating 130-octane hydrogen in gaseous form. A mixture of gasoline and hydrogen is injected into the intake manifold, along with a 30-40 percent mixture of air. That allows the Scorpion to keep emissions at a minimum while returning an estimated 40 mpg.

No one argues that hydrogen actually is actually created by electrolysis.

We just argue that its worth the trouble. I'm willing to bet if you take that -away- from this car and let the PCM compensate, you'll lose 1 mpg and 5 horsepower, at the gain of a far more simple system.

it is a nice lookin car, is there an estimated price tag on a car like this?

600 hp twin turbo V6 that still gets 40mpg, I don't see that getting w/o the hydrogen. That engine comes out of the 08 Acura TL, in stock form it makes 280hp, and gets 18/26 mpg(taken from the Acura website) throw a couple of turbos on it and yeah you might be able to push the 600hp, but not while increasing your mileage by nearly a 3rd.

$150,000 for the base(450hp), $250,000 for the HX(600hp)

The first automotive design of several will be a mild hybrid, called the "Scorpion". This will be a light weight hand built carbon fiber body, over a race car designed chrome-moly chassis, powered by the latest high tech Acura V-Tech, V-6, Type S, 3.5 Liter power-plant from the 2008 TL TypeS. On board will be our Hydrogen on demand system, which provides 130 octane Hydrogen in real time, blended with gasoline in ratios of 30-50%. Coupled with a close ratio six-speed transmission and other fuel saving measures, the "Scorpion", highway fuel economy will be in the 40 mpg range, and capable of producing 450 horsepower with the twin-turbo option.

And an estemated top speed of 200mph.

mod tech?
It'sfor the guys that say this technology won't work the way it says it will. Ronn Motor Comany also has the H2GO kit comming for public sale soon, and possably give the guys who have faith in this technology, the insperation to make it work on they're rigs.

and I agree, it works, but the price still makes it not worth it.
Nothing comes for free.
