im tryin to get my ax15 tranny put in TODAY.
i couldnt get the fill plug off so i wasnt sure how much lube to put in. looked online and it says 3.25 qts. i only have 2 qts. syncromesh and that was last 2 qts. at autozone and they dont have anything else except royal purple for synthetic.

can i mix RP and syncromesh?

i called the ONLY other auto parts store around and they have STA-LUBE gl-4 80w90 and thats it for gl-4. no synthetic at all

what to do?

2qts. RP and 2qts. syncromesh? can it be done?

thanks

I don't see why not. Avoid that Sta-Lube crap.

1999 FSM says 3.49 qts is dry fill for the 4wd version of the tranny. The 93 FSM says 3.38 qts. I don't know how much stays in the tranny when you drain it with the drain plug. I would try and get that fill plug out so you don't over fill it.
