Alright Im looking into a 97 cherokee that is already lifted and decked out with a front bumper, wheels and tires, lights and roof rack. I do want a 97+ cherokee because I like the interor better. My problem is the engine is the 4.0l is blown. Im pretty sure it unfixible. What engines will just swap in with out geting a new computer and running new wires?

are you asking what engine or what year 4.0 engine?
short block from any xj 4.0 should work.
drop in replacemnt would be of course a 97 4.0

pretty much any of the 4.0 will drop right in, just be sure you get the entire wireing harness and ecu if you swaping to a different version 4.0. And make sure its a 4.0 NOT a 4.2 because things are NOT the same there.
