Interior colors..

does anyone know if the early xj (84-90) came with a black interior option and if so on what models it might be found? i want to redo mine and id like it in black if its possible.

No, and I think you mean the '84-'96 XJs. 97+ are the "new" style.

My friend had an 87 that had black seats with white lines in a checkerboard pattern. But I dont think it was stock.

use interior paint you can change it to lime green if you want

Some 80's did have the black interior.

Actually the front seats fit 84/94. They changed the way they mount in 95 when they put a rib on the front floorboards. The rest of the interior did change in 97 though. And no, I don't ever remember seeing a solid black interior, just the ugly 2 tone stuff.
