so after reading the FAQ. ive come to this:

i could find a 95-99 xj 2.5L auto, with a d30 high pinion w/ 297 joints and 4.56's. and a 8.25 with 29 spline shafts and 4.56's? is this true?

It's true in theory, but you're more likely to find a 2.5L with the ax5 and 4.10s(cause who would in their right mind would cheap out on the 4.0 only to spend the $ on an auto). It'll have to be a May 96+ for the 8.25 to have 29 splines.

29 spline 8.25 will be in 97/98 and up not in a 95-96.

hard time believing you will be able to find 4.56 gearing

weird

1995 - 2001
These units are 29 spline equipped and are considerably stronger than a Dana 35 rear end.

Did a search because I have a similar question and found this topic. FAQ says 95+ have 29 splines, bud has a 96, trying to figure out how many splines he has (without counting splines, I'm just curious what his jeep has). I also thought 96 was the split year and after checking FAQ now I don't know what's right lol
