Fuel pump problem

I'm sure this has been covered but after reading 8 pages of results, I am done trying to fish through all the unneeded. My issue is simple, 88 MJ 4.0l, BA-10. When I turn the truck on it primes the pump but when the key is turned to the start position, it cuts power to the pump. What would be the solution?

Have you looked at your ECU? I took mine out, opened it up and saw a fried cap. Just a place to start....

Maybe try the ignition switch also.. :patriot:

It sounds like the relay to me. There is a relay for the fuel pump that bypasses the resister on the drivers side fender. I would think that if the relay is bad it would give similar results to what you are describing.
