5 1/2 lift E-brake cables to short.

So, I raised the front and rear of my 91 an inch or so more than the RE4.5 lift. I installed a tail shaft shortener and replaced the drive shaft. Now my E-brake cables seems to be to short. Can I replace them with MJ longbed cables? Any Ideas would help.

move the e-brake tensioner bracket back about 4 inches. helps a lot and is real easy to do. make sure that your driveshaft won't hit the cable though or you'll crap your driveshaft real fast.

mine bends over my rear driveshaft and when I moved the tensioner back, the cable almost came into contact with the driveshaft. I had to put a clamp on the cable to hold it off the driveshaft. Working good so far, but if you let it fall and hit a spinning shaft, especially at speed, it'll eat right through the driveshaft. I've seen 16 gauge wires do this and in less than an hour almost cut a driveshaft clean in half.
