242 no 4 high

1998 4.0 Aw-4 242, 4 hi does not work, in either part time or full time, but 4 low works fine, any thoughts

in 4 high niether frt tires gets power, just the rear tires, but when in 4 low both frt and rear tires get power, so i basicly have to use 4 low to get 4wd, never had this problem with the 231 in my 95 Xj
