HI guys this is a pretty cool forum you have here. I have just recently come across at NP231 transfer case out of a wrangler with a 5-speed. My concern is if it will fit in my XJ with an automatic. My transfer case is a NP231:wave1:

I believe the transfer cases in the Wranglers are clocked (rotated) a little differently

Also, make sure to check the splines, I'm not sure which ones come with which, but there are 21 and 23 splined 231's.

why are you replacing it?

I replacing it because the pump on my old one burned up and as a result the T-Case chain didn't get proper lubrication and now when I try to put it in 4 wheel drive it make terrible noises and never engages:bawl:

If the bolt holes don't line up can you take the innards from the donor and move them over
