what's a good short-term crossmember replacement

My stock crossmember has a big fold in one side and needs to be replaced ASAP. However I plan to get a full belly pan with the T&T longarm kit in a few months, so I don't want to make a big investment here. I was thinking about welding a strip of 1" ribbon stock to the front lip of a stock crossmember to beef it up and give it something to slide on. OTOH the T&T HD cross-member looks pretty stout, and would be a lot easier than fabricating my own. Anything better?

Rusty's does one out of 3/16th that would work, 130 or so if I recall.
You could also just get another stocker from the junkyard for 20$ or whatever and hold off on the upgrade till you, y'know, really upgrade.

tnt makes one that looks beef, it says its 3/16ths as well, and tnt > rustys
its even remotely cheap and will resell well! win-win
