guys been searching and trying to find a thread that has really detailed info/ measurements on building sliders for our 4 door '96 XJ. my 15yo son wants to do them for a project in his welding class. i'd like to be able to email him a link or the instructions and see what happens.

he likes this style from AJ's. thanks for any help

Hi

Yesterday I received the sliders made from the drawing I made. They are a little bit tight, but it will work.

Now they are painted, I'll re-install them tonight.

The tube for the pinch seam was meant to be on the outside(where its perfectly flat).

I can give you some basic measurements and a materials/cut list if you want. Also if he doesn't have access to a bender I can bend/cut those outers for him.:cheers:

Hi all

Final product installed

There is a slight deflection on the 2x2 I used as sliders, but it is not that bad I think

It is the first real mod I do on the XJ, more to come later

How many bolts hold them to the "frame"?

Self tappers?

Self taper, about 8 per sides

Here is what I did, very straight forward. You won't be able to to mount the feet like I did but add a 2x4 section of plate (1/8th to 3/16 will be fine) and secure with self tappers.
