rim size for 14" wide tire?

I would go with a 10" wide rim for the 14" wide tire. A friend of mine runs 35x14.5" boggers on 10" wide wheels and they work well. I think an 8" rim would be a little skinny for those tires and not make the tread sit correctly.
 
A 12.50 is marginal on an 8" wheel, I'm sure the manufacturer recomends a 10" wheel. I have run 12.50s on 8" Chev ralleys & it's the biggest tire I would use on that width of wheel.
 
I have a set of 33x12.50 TSL's and a set of 36x13.50 Iroks and they both say right on the tire that they are recommended for a 10" wide rim. Now a 14" wide tire may even recommend a 12" wide rim, but I do know that I sure as hell would not run a 14" on a 8" rim.
