Upper Inlet Transmission line

Question about the Upper inlet transmission line, Sprung a leak on 92' cherokee sport

Quick connect type fitting, how the heck do these things come off?

With out breaking it of course.

If you have the quick connect fitting you should be able to push the little ears together and slip it off. Some require a special tool that basically does the same thing.

Is it a hose to hardline fitting or hardline to tranny?

If it's a host to line fitting you can either spend the $$ and get a new line (you can't just buy the fitting although you can buy the guts) at the dealer. I had trouble with a.) finding the hose/fitting b.) the damn fitting itself. I ended up removing all the QD fittings and cutting the hose and clamping with a hose clamp.

If you're going to cut the hardline it's best to do it with a tube cutter for a clean cut and putting in a compression fitting wioth a hose barb. Like so:
