The tag on my front axle (D30) says 3.55, it's a 1997 Sport selec-trac, nothing exotic. Everything I have researched says I've got 3:55 axles front & rear (D35).
Anyway, I'm arranging to have the front axle rebuilt next week with a new ring & pinion, and the guy at the shop says , yup, the gearset is 3.54 for the D30, don't worry it'll run fine.
Is the original R&P for a D30 3.54 or 3.55? I looked up part numbers and couldn't find a 3.55 gearset for the D30, but still, why would the tag be different?
