not sure how long. maybe just a few days because of the "heat wave" we're having ? anyway, got this update today in my email. thought i'd share incase anyone is planning a trip in the next few days.

Hi Everyone,

Due to an increase in Fire Danger and the Industrial Precaution Level of Restrictions - the OHV trails in the Tillamook State Forest (Browns Camp, Jordan Creek, Diamond Mill, and Trask) and the trails in the BLM Nestucca Riding Area are CLOSED effective at 1:00 AM Friday, August 14th and will remain closed until further notice. The gravel roads in the Browns Camp, Jordan Creek, Diamond Mill, and Trask areas remain open for OHV use.

I will let you know as soon as the trail closure is lifted.

Please help us spread the word in the OHV community and, as always, feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Thanks for your help!

been up there all weekend, there were signs up everywhere, but i still seen people wheelin. they had Rangers up everywhere.

On second hand. i've never seen so many people in one place at Sandlake. witch, btw.. is an awesome place!

Sand Lake is nothing once you go play in nice dunes, sand lakes attraction is the fact its so close for Portlanders.

Go up to the dunes in northern Idaho if you like riding steep tall dunes or down on the south coast florence/winchester bay/spin reel/boxcar etc. for great dunes where you can have 10-15k people without it seeming busy.

Now its open again.

in the TSF have reopened for use - even thought the forest is still under level II restrictions.

If the original post is here - I missed it - but here is the update.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your help in mitigating fire danger over the last weekend during the Industrial Precaution Level 3 closure period by observing the trail closure and keeping OHV activity to the maintained gravel roads in the OHV recreation areas. It was a busy weekend for the TSF Fire Crews as state forest and state protected lands experienced high temperatures, low humidity, and some pretty spectacular lightening activity. However, the weather is breaking and that allows us to re-instate the OHV Trail Use Waiver. (Campfires remain restricted to developed campgrounds and signed designated dispersed campsites with ODF installed metal fire grates.)

Effective, Monday August 18th at 01:00 AM the Industrial Precaution Level will drop back down to a Level 2 allowing the OHV Trails in the Tillamook State Forest and the BLM managed Nestucca riding areas to re-OPEN to public use.

Thanks again for your help and patience!
