No more Dana's in Jeeps??

Definitely a soap opera. A few years ago Chrysler was threatening to drop Dana for AAM over all the problems with the aluminum D44. I was surprised when they retained Dana for the JK axles after they switched to AAM for the Ram and WK.

That article is a good summary of the economy right now. With gas prices and shipping costs a lot of suppliers are finding their margins eaten up by the costs. Especially if your shipping heavy axles.

It seems odd that two of Chrysler’s partners are coming out of bankruptcy, not that it is Chryslers fault. I think the supply terms and costs have been so fluid in the auto industry a lot of the mid players in the supply chain are finding themselves underwater. Seems llike a lot of bad contract negotiations on dana's part, and now they can't meet the the terms profitabliy.
