2000 XJ Check Engine Light - FSM Codes?

I have the FSM but can't find the codes. What section are they under?

Also, is there a procedure on the 2000 to get the light to flash out the code? I found the thread for a 93 but it doesn't work on my 2000 (and the neighbors now think I'm insane).

no, it only works on 96 and earlier and some 97's

The codes will be in the back of the FSM...before the index

And you'll need a scanner to pull the codes, or you can take it to Autozone if you don't have a scanner of your own and they will read the codes for free.

Thanks. Autozone hooked it up. I might purchase one of those devices...

So my codes are:
P1494 - Leak Detection Pump Sw or Mechanical Fault
P0302 - Cylinder #2 Misfire

I put in some injector cleaner with a fresh tank of gas about 30 miles ago. Might that trigger these codes? I'll start researching now...

1494 could be a vacuum leak in the vacuum hose to the LDP, or a faulty LDP. a vacuum leak can cause a misfire as well

Forgot to follow up. The the vacuum line had come off the side of the intake manifold. But I got new actron code reader!
