I got to talking about this with a fellow XJer and both our heeps have nice smooth pipes. Mine's a 91 and his is a 2000 with the Y-pipe.

what years had downpipe kink?

Every one I've seen. My 98 has it, and so does my 96. My 96 is even 2wd, and it still has the kink to clear the front drive shaft. :dunno:

my 99 had one
but i replaced the pipe with one without a kink and havent had any problems
