How do you check the e-fan?

As the title says, how do you check the efan to make sure it's running at the correct speeds when engaged?

'Pretty sure all XJs came with single speed fans. If it's running, it's at the correct speed. To check it (with ac anyway) start the jeep and let it get up to a stable temp. Turn on the ac. The fan should kick on pretty quickly. I've read that some XJ's fans run whenever the AC is on. I assume those are earlier modles. Mine(2000) will kick on and off at about 45 sec. to 1 min. intervals while the AC is on, at idle, sitting with the hood open.(on a hot day in AZ)

Well, that makes it easy for me, haha. The fan comes on w/ the A/C and whenever the temp hits 210-ish.

Unplug it, and jumper the fan to a 12 volt source. . .
