ALWAYS carry trail spares. even though it's a good strong axle, I would take spare parts just in case....

I run alloys and carry extra stock shafts. Haven't broken an alloy yet.

Knock on wood, I run 35s on a XJ 44 with the Super 44 kit that has 33 spline shafts and have not broken them.
I do not currently have spares, but they are on my list of things to buy.

I ran a Dana 44 in my CJ-7 (same thing as an XJ44, 30 spline) for 6 years running 35's and a Detroit locker beat the crap out of it. Never ever broke a shaft......
It also depends how heavy your right foot is on an obstacle, once that tire that is spinning fast suddenly hits traction........ I have seen D60's disintegrate.
Agree with others though, carry spares, "A prepared man gets home on time."
