I Need Vin Codes..............

I have a 85 Jeep xj and need to know what the Vin codes for #'s 12-17 are.
Can anyone help?
It has the V-6 and np 231 with the AX-15, 4 door with ac.
I know all the #'s from 1-11.
How do I find out what axles it has? What about the gearing?

I was going to guess, but i digress. Instead, i checked it out. here's what i found:
The 12th to 17th characters are the actual serial number of the vehicle—these last 6 digits make the vehicle unique (think of DNA). It can also help to identify whether the vehicle was the first, the hundredth, or the last vehicle off the manufacturer’s assembly line. This is valuable information for collectors.

I work with vins every day so I felt pretty comfortable saying the last 6 digits weren't anything in particular... But i made sure. There you go. for more info from the link

You can also go to the dealer, and he will give you a print out of your vehicle from the Vin.
Don't even bother - Chrysler recycled the build codes and a 24-year old Cherokee will appear to have had some interesting options.

Yup. The last 6 are the build number. The check digit is calculated off that, but by themselves they aren't all that special. As for collector's value...the Cherokee isn't part of that market.
