JEEP LOCKED?

OK,
I JUMPED INTO THE JEEP EARLER, WHEN I PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION, IT WILL BUZZ. AND WILL NOT GO EITHER DIRECTION. IT WONT MOVE , IT JUST BUZZ, WHY IS IT LIKE THIS AND HOW DO I UNLOCK IT FROM THAT POSITION? PLEASE HELP.

The steering column is probably locked. It happens.

Just force it forward(use the wings on the ignition cylinder, not the key). It should go.

rock the steering wheel while you force the key. just forcing the key will break it. also make sure you got in the right jeep. the key from your 9x wont start a 08.

This happens when there is force on the steering wheel and it jams the lock cylinder. Turn the steering wheel hard - it should move, and then it will start easily.
