ZJ and XJ skid plates

I remember reading that the gas tank skid from a ZJ will fit an XJ. Does the front skid fit too? I located a 1998 ZJ w/skids for cheap and want to put them on my 1996 Cherokee (with a hitch if it matters). Thanks!

no, a ZJ skid will ony fit a 97+ XJ

I have a 97ZJ with up country, all the skids and hooks, they are totally different from my 98XJ and while the rear gas tank skid looks similar it's not. I will measure both in the morning if I don't get too busy.

i have a zj gas tank skid on my 99 xj and i just had to do some minor trimming to clear the hitch and drill new holes to mount it.
