Hello... yesterday I was operating the window driver side and suddenly the glass doesn´t go up or down but the motor runs fine...after it, the glass has a free movement like it has loose a pin or something like that. anyone knows how to fix it?
Thanks

Try giving the door a fair slam shut while holding the window switch in the 'up' position. If you get lucky like me, that'll do it and just don't roll it all the way down again cuz it comes off the track at the end. Otherwise you're takin' the whole door apart, bud!

You need a new window regulator. The regulator on the xj is cable operated and once the cable breaks the glass will move freely. Take the door panel off and check it out for sure though.

2x yjkrawlerboy, 97 up are different than 84/96 & there are $20 kits out there to repair them, the earlier style cannot be repaired, you have to replace the whole unit. you can drill the rivets out & switch the motor if you can find a used one with a bad motor. half of them seem to have bad motors, the other half have bad regulators.check your local pullapart if you have the earlier rig.
