Sputtering...

I was just driving around town....then it starts to idleling weird from 1,XXX rpms to 2,XXX did it 3 times, when i slow down to stop sign then goes back to normal.

what ive changed....

1.IAC
2.TPS few months ago...
3.Fuel Filter
4.Fuel Pump

This problem ONLY happens occasionally.

how new is the iac? Did you clean the area that the iac sits into when you replaced it?

What engine / year?

You may have a vacuum leak.

Yes, I clean the throttle body and the ports where the IAC/TPS sit in place.

4.0L / 89 Laredo Cherokee.

Im having the same problem and Ive noticed that it does it at about 1800 rpms. ive change the iac as well i also changed the fuel pressure sending unit cause it was leaking. thought that might have been my vacuum leak.


Next thing to check is my ignition coil and EGR valve.
