Tranny and Xfer case

I just got a AW4 tranny and a 242 xfer case out of an 88 XJ (Renix). My question is can I bolt the xfer case on to my 95 XJ AW4 or do I have to use the old Renix AW4, which I have read there are electronic issues regarding the power/comfort switch. So, could I just bolt up the 88 Renix 242 to my 95 AW4 so I can by pass the whole electronic problems?

Thanks,
Silent

IIRC the output on the 88 AW4 is a 21 spline and the output on the 95 is a 23 spline.

Change the input on the transfer case (easier than changing the output on the AW4) and you're good. Also, you can (I'm fairly sure) swap them as a unit - the AW4 didn't change significantly (internally) over production life, although there were some sensor changes coincident with OBD-II (1996), IIRC.
