fender trimming

the time has come for me to cut for 33x12.50s. as far as the flares are concerned, i want to retain as close to a stock look as possible. i am not a fan of flareless, nor do i like any of the larger flare options.

i know that there are different variations and methodologies for achieving this goal. i am looking for tech articles that will give me specific instructions.

i have found this article, which is the closest to what i want:
http://www.geocities.com/green6173/

but i would very much like to know all of my options before making the plunge (so to speak). if anyone has links to similar detailed tech similar to this, please post up!

I am going to put TJ flares on mine. I have a seen it a number of times and I like the look better than stock. Now I just have to get around to putting them on...

There is a wonderful write up on relocating the flares. I believe it was 53guy that made it. I also think TNT did a great job on his.

edit: didn't realize that was 53guy site. Its down though so I would just download the PDFs http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87959&page=5

get 53 guys write up, its in pdf format, I know theyre downloadable somehwere, if ya cant find them i have them on my laptop and can email em, pm me.

53guy did front and rear writeups for relocating the stock flares. I talked to him ages ago about putting them on my site but never finalized the writeup.

You can read the front writeup at http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/trim.html
The rear writeup is http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/reartrim.html
Both will be edited in the near future, these are simply rough versions.

I pulled my stock flares off this weekend and will be adding a page about cutting the fenders for use with TJ flares.

I saw pix of the relocated stock flares somewhere & they looked great, also have seen frnt & rr both replaced w/T.J. rears & it still kind of has the stock 97 & later look & I may try that. the're only $40.ea new so they should be cheap at the bone yard.
