The pads (inner) have worn a significant groove into the bottom rail . Looks like it's deep enough to hang.
Has anybody ever MIG'ed this notch and filed it down flush?
I've looked around for a set of pad rail covers, kind of a snap on type sheet metal cover for the rails, but have been unsuccessful in finding any. I've had them come with the pads on occasion, I'd guess as part of a kit. I haven't seen any for years though.
Any ideas?

Weld um' up,and grind them smooth.I too have seen the clips you,r talking about. Not sure what brand of pads they came with.

Worked out fine, the brake mount is fairly good cast that takes a MIG weld well. Nice to know, if anybody ever needs to weld up the notches from the front brake pads on the rails or strips out the caliper rod bolts, you can weld up the holes and drill and tap.
