Anyone ever swap a dana 231 for a 300

Youre gunna have to flip it as it is a pass drop. You could also use a box4rocks kit to make a 231/300 doubler. there is a thread of it over on pirate

that website has some info. they mention that it has 26 spline output front and rear.

that site says it has a 23 spline input. they also say in this site thats its passenger side drop :tears:. just figured id post some quick info that i found

I heard that you could flip the out put/in put on the 300.I'm still looking in to this.Eather way I'm going to start to do something today.
 
Is the dana 300 stronger then the np231? I can see the lower ratio advantage but i wonder if it can handle any more abuse. Keep us posted i love these conversions:eyes:
 
I don't know about stronger?But I like the way 300's are set up.I'm not sure how far I'll get on this or how long it'll take but I'll keep ya posted.

the dana 300 is a gear driven case and is very strong and has lower gearing then the 231. They make flip kits for them and doubler kit so you can put it behind your 231! Post some pics if you decide to use it!

I'm sure the 231 has a 2.72 to 1 and the 300 has a 2.62 to 1 ratio.
I definitly agree that the 300 is the stronger of the two.
