Off two pins on a connector (my book says B11 and B12) and then to the engine dipstick holder is one of the grounds. Large ground wire from the battery and two smaller ones, one is an ECU ground (engine computer) and the other is the TCU ground (atomatic tranny control unit). At least on my 87 and 88 imagine yours is the same.
Actually this ground point, is for most of the engine and tranny functions.
The ignition coil, injectors and other stuff splices into the same line.
