im usinga tow dolly can i just put the transfer case in nuetral or do i have to remove the rear drive shaft?

The manual will tell you to remove the shaft. I'd do it if it was my jeep and I was going any more than a few miles from home.

if you're towing at highway speeds, pull the DS and put a couple bags over the tail shaft housing with rubber bands. The peace of mind is worth the effort-- unless you really might want a new transfer case when you get where you're going. It would only take someone accidentally knocking it into gear or a big bump jarring the linkage to poop in your Post Toasties!:wave:
