Need to change my motor A few questions

I searched a little but didnt find exacly what i need to know. I have a 96 with an AX15 and a 4.0 and i have bad compresssion and cam. I am looking out of an engine from a 98 but need to know if im going to need a comp to go with it and also if there is another engine in general that would cheap and easy? I need my truck back ASAP and also would compression as low as 80 in some cylinders cause my engine to not run?

80 is kinda low but it should start and run even with that low of a number. Not too sure if there were significant changes in that 96-98 range which would preclude your use of that engine.
