after parking my jeep it wouldn't start back up every thing was working fine up until then. when i got it home i figured out that there is no spark. i had the ignition coil tested and it is good so im thinking the cps. also metel part on the distributer roter was broken if that helps. its a 97 with the 4.0. thanks

Was or IS broken? If it's too big a gap the spark won't be able to jump.

was i fixed it. the gap i fine and the engine is stock

CPS then man, if it hasnt been replaced recently.

On the Renix era (87-90) the manual mentions checking resistance. It should be 200 + or - 75 ohms

Exactly what mine did. Everything fine, parked it, get in to go to work in the morning.......Nananananananananothing. CPS(crank postion sensor)

Test CPS as mentioned before. Easy enough to do with a simple resistance reading using a multimeter. Replace if out of spec.
