Hello,

I have a 96 with a 5-speed which on the way home stalled while driving down
the highway. Luckly, pulled over to the side and the check engine light came on. After awhile it started again and made it home. The next day tried to
start it and it wouldn't start,so I put the scanner on it got six codes,
PO201 to 206. Also checked my spark plugs and didn't get a spark.
Read previous posts to check the wiring harness and wiring.
My question is would the CPS also be a problem and need to be replaced?

Thanks, Chris

if you're getting no spark at all, i would say check the distributor and/or coil.

EDIT: to do so, pull the wire that goes from the coil to the distrubutor cap off the cap (leavijng it connected to the coil). hold a large screwdrive in the end of the wire and close to the engine block (spark plug gap distance ish). if you get spark, replace the cap and rotor. if not, search for "testing coil"

Crank Position Sensor and coil pickup are things to check. See if the injectors are firing, if they're not, you can rule out a spark-only problem like a coil or rotor.
