Looking at buying some shafts for my D30. I wont be able to open it up until Friday to see why I'm dragging the rt front wheel in reverse, but if my U joints are shot I might as well upgrate to 297/760 shafts at this time.

I found a pair of used shafts with 297s from a 97+ XJ for 80 shipped.

I was also looking at these, brand new, $259+ shipping:

I also stumbeld across these on ebay:

I emailed him and they're Yukon shafts.

Which would you go with? Money is a bit tight, so unless there is some reason why the used shafts are a horrible idea, I'll probably go with those, then buy better shafts down the road when I have more cash.

if the used ones look good, just change the axle joint. if yours were bad you could look and tell without tearing it apart, just jack it up and wiggle the outer end and check for play.

I run abused TJ shafts front and my spares are junkyard shafts. The rear spares are used as well, as long as the splines aren't twisted and the yokes aren't ovaled out, they should be good. Like jeepn21 said, you can change the joint if it looks bad, but in my case I ran em as-is.
