premier power welder ???

That website for Northern Tools links to a battery powered welder not to a Premier power welder.
I personally have not used a Premier but have talked to some oilfield guys who have them on their company trucks and they say that they are OK for a temporary fix but are not a very deep penetrating permanent weld. They say that they are able to stick stuff together until a real welder shows up but thats about it.
PPWs use a huge altenator and some type inverter to weld with. This Northern Tools welder has to have a series of batteries in order to weld.

Yeah, the Ready Welder is a nice unit. You can use it on an old buzz box, too. Works just fine for most stuff.

Oh, and those oil rig guys must be working on big stuff, because their 'tack welding' stories are a crock of shit. :)
