Help with painting some rims

Hey all,
I want to paint some alloy rims black. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've never painted alloy before. Should I lay down a coat of primer first? Any help is greatly appreciated.

have them powder coated

Sand the old stuff off, clean the wheel, then primer and paint.

Depends how good you want them to look, but I started at 80 and went up.
