15x8 wheels ok for stock tires?

This is a newbie question, sorry... I couldn't find any solid answers from searching and everybody I ask has a different opinion.

Will I be ok with 15x8 wheels for 225/75R15 tires? strictly for onroad use, will never be aired down.

I just put 235/75/15 s on 2 15x8 DC-1's last night, they look a little scary like the slightest brush on a curb or anything will f up the wheel. If the wheel was completly smooth on the ouside it may be fine. I have seen worse than these so...

funny you mention it, I'm hoping to use the tires on 15x8 "Argent" DC-1s. I don't care about curb rash, the Eccos on my 31" have so much rock rash, you can see the scrapes from 100 feet away.
