I got my 4.10 rear axle in today. It took me and a friend 2.5 hours to do total. Hopefully it will give me some more "oumph" in 4lo. I can already tell that it gets going on the street better. All I can say is that the front axle is going to be a royal pain in the arse to get in.

I'll be wanting to make a run to goat when I get the front axle and my new front driveline in, So I'll keep you guys updated on whats happening.

BTW, Anyone have some 31's they want to part with for cheap?

Yes I will. I really dont want to replace a TC right now. I've taken the front driveshaft out jsut as a precaution incase it slips into/I bump the shift lever into 4by.

if you put a bigger tire on you will loose all the extra "oomph"!

It is an endless battle ;)

Where did you track a set down from?

TORX:
A 1986 2.8L/auto/242 jeep my neighbor cut up and took to the scrap yard. I got both axles and all the steering stuff up to the pitman arm for a hundred bucks.

2Xtreme:

I have a set of 5 Michelin X's. 31x10.50x15. 4 tires have 50% tread and are unmounted. The 5th tire is brand new and mounted on a black steel wheel. They are GREAT on the street, dry or wet. They do OK in dry off road conditions but absolutely suck in anything slippery like mud or snow. I am in Tumwater/Olympia, about 1:45 north of Portland.
