4.0 HO with abt 130k on the ticker, abt 2500 RPM the valve train has a sweet clatter. Mostly does it after it warms up.

Oil pressure isnt but abt 20psi.

Currently running 10W30.

Any suggestions?

Thx-
Andrew

you need to look into the oil delivery. check the filter first.

mine chattered a bit when i would run low on oil before i fixed the rms. 20psi is a bit low at 2500rpms.

What is "rms"?

Thx,
Andrew

Using a Motorcraft Mustang filter currently (1 quart capacity) and running a semi synthetic blend of 10w30, I'm at 60 psi at 2000 rpm.

Not bad for a motor with nearly 202,000 eh?

What kind of filter are you running?

Try bumping the viscosity of your filter up to something thicker.

RMS, OK!

I just had to install a used engine, ALL NEW SEALS went in, even valve stem seals. No leak, RMS is good to go.

Would 30 weight be better than 10W30?

Andrew
