AC cuts out in city???

2000 Sport 4.0L AW4.
AC will cut out in city stop and go driving. Seems to be when the temp triggers the electric radiator fan.
Any easy fix? Is this the nature of the system?
It seems to happen less if I put the trans in nuetral at extended stops.

Some cycling is normal but your fan should run when the compressor is running as well. Are you saying the fan runs due to high coolant temps and the ac stops?
