231 NEED HELP

I have a 96 cherokee classic with a 231 transfer case and have installed a lowering kit to make up for my 4 inch lift. After installing it I tried to re ajust the linkage, and now i am unable to put it into 4 low. it is able to go into 2H 4H and N, but when i keep trying to push it down into 4L it doesn't want to move. Any advice on this would be helpful, thanks.

Is it in Neutral when your trying to change into 4L. If its not, try putting the Transmisson in Neutral and shifting to 4L.

the linkage needs adjusted. they usually do. have a buddy sit in the jeep, you get underneath and loosen the linkage between the lever and the t-case (should be 13mm if i remember correctly) then push the rod forward about half an inch. tighten back up, and see if buddy can pull the lever into 4-lo.
