I'm in the process of building my roof rack. On it I will have 4 100 watt wally world lights, and 4 55w halogen lights (2 side, 2 backup). I am puting the wiring system in a box and have been designing it on paper.
The switch panel I am using is a 4 switch, 40amp each unit.

I was planning on using 40 amp 4 pole relays for each pair of lights.
since the HD switches and the relays are both 40 amp rated, is the use of relays pointless? I know if I used std 15-20 amp switches the realys would be worth it, but I don't want to create more work for myself than nessisary.
Thanks.

You going to want to use relays no matter what. This helps with current isolation.
