'01 Wiring/Alternator Upgrade

I was searching and I couldn't seem to find a whole lot on upgrades for alternators in the late model (99+) cherokees. Either there isn't a whole lot of it or I just missed it, which then I apoligize. Regardless, my '01 alternator decided to have a little seizure :twak: so I'm looking at getting one of these Iraggi Alternators. Has anyone else used one in a late model? Is it worth it and do you think I should upgrade my wiring if I do get it?

Thanks for any input,
Mike

unless you really need to spend that kinda of money, look into the Durango swap on here. 136amp alt from a Durango/Dakota/1500 Truck in V8 form should all fit with a little grinding. I used a Dodge 1500 alt, other than the grinding, it fit in no problem, wiring swapped over no problem.

You can use a factory alternator from a 98 ZJ which IIRC is 125A.

OR... Purchase a higher amperage one....

When I upgraded my Jeeps charging system I upgraded the battery cables and fabricated a set of 2 ga fine strand cables with fusion connectors, the charging lead from the alternator to fuse block is 4 ga fine strand and fabricated another mounting stud for the fuse block power connection and added a mini buss fuse to replace the fusible link.
