Uh Oh- Gold flecks in Diff Oil?

I pulled the cover from my rear diff this afternoon to change the oil and put on an ARB cover (hey- I got a tax rebate, OK?) and noticed as I was cleaning things up that there were were small gold flecks in the oil. I had a Tru-Trac put in just over a year ago at 4WPW. At the 6 month point everything looked OK (no gold flecks anyway). Does anyone know what this might be? I am suspecting a bearing someplace but am crossing my fingers that it may be normal break in. Contact pattern on the gears looked good. Oil was a bit dirtier than I expected though, and definitely dirtier than the oil out of the other diff, which has an air locker. ATdhvaannkcse

Did you have an aftermarket cover on before?

I had some gold flecks after a Crane cover went on my diff.

I had same issue when bearing went south.
