231 AMC

im getting ready to swap in a 231 for my leaking 242 and the 231 i have says 231 amc on the tag...

is there any difference between the 231 amc and the 231 j?

231 is from an 88 xj and will be going into a 89 xj both aw4...

I think the amc (American Motor Company) was pre chrysler. I know chrysler bought jeep before 88, but they used the stocked parts. I believe it is the same as your 89.

Bolt right up. No problems It is a very common change on an xj.
