Pressure release when refueling?

When I fill up and remove the gas cap, there is a huge pressure release. It’s like my gas tank has formed a vacuum. Anybody know what this is and is it dangerous to me or my Jeep?

its supposed to do it. your emissions system pulls a vacuum on the tank. On newer cars it will throw a code if the system is malfunctioning.

Well its a 93 and it hasnt started doing it until recently seeing how I have been fueling it up for the last 8 years. So I am guessing that the vent is blocked. is there any way to clear it out?

Thanks

i wouldnt worry about it, a vacuume line probably wore out up near the motor, check the ones going to the canister on the passinger side firewall. That is the evap canister.
