does a 2000xj hitch work on a 96xj?

Would a 2000xj factory hitch and mounting hardware line up with a 96 without and mods?

Is there any difference between the stock trailer hitch on a 2000 and on a 96?

Yes
Not in how they mount.

I used a '90 hitch on my '00.

Hey neighbor.

They should be the same. I put the hitch from my old 96 onto my 98 with no issues.

Okay, thanks. . . I was just curious if the part OEM part is the same despite the body style changing. So a 96 goes on a 98.. lets hope a 00 goes on a 96 lol

sweet! i was just looking for this same question... found a 91 for sale right by my house and the guy said i could take the hitch if it fit rear recovery point here I come!..for free!! lol
